Dr. Schurch

This is what Dr. Schurch likes and does not like about her job: She likes that she can cure people. She doesn’t like that she tells them bad news.  Not always but when she has to do it, it is really hard to tell her patients that they are going to die.  She is an internist. This is someone who studies and works with adults and sees what is wrong with them.

Doctor Schurch is an internist; she deals with the inside of your body. She injects medicine into your insides like your intestines and organs and stuff like that. She started working in 2001 and is still working today.

Doctor: A Childhood Dream

Dr.Schurch is an internist from Puerto Rico. An internist is a type of emergency doctor, not a surgeon though. An internist is a doctor of internal medicine.

The job has its ups and downs, she says. She seems to come upon a language barrier. She often has to repeat what she says.

Dr.Schurch works at Sea Mar Community Health Centers. She has worked at Sea Mar for 10 years and works 10 hours per a day.

She spent most of her childhood wanting to be some sort of doctor. When she went to college she studied to be an internist.

A Doctor Visits the Middle School

Here at Chestnut Hill Academy, a special guest speaker, Dr. Schurch, spoke to the middle school students about her job.

Dr. Schurch is an internist that only works on adults and studies internal medicine. Dr. Schurch works in Washington State even though she was born in Puerto Rico. An internist like her deals with patients with special needs and cancer.

Dr. Schurch does not work in one place but in lots of places and drives every day to help people survive. The doctor has a child named Rosalynn. Dr. Schurch is a nice woman and she hates telling people that they are going to die because of the illness or disease that they have. She likes telling people that they are going to get over their illness and are going to be ok.

Dr. Schurch is an internist. An internist is someone who specializes in the body. Dr. Schurch comes from Puerto Rico.

When she went to medical school, she learned about different types of glands and things about the body. After medical school, she went to a real job. One thing Dr. Schurch had to deal with was bad functions with the body.

Dr. Schurch doesn’t like telling her patients bad news, like telling them that they don’t have a cure for them or that they are going to die. Dr. Schurch loves helping other people.

What an Internist Does

What an internist does is that they study the patient and tells them what’s going on with them. An internist has to know many cures, and they need to know a lot about the body. Sometimes an internist has to deal with difficult problems or dying patients.

Internists are doctors of internal medicine. I have once met an internist and her name was Dr.Schurch.  And from what I’ve heard from her is that they deal with difficult problems.

And during her free, when she is at home, she mostly plays with her daughter, Rosalynn. And she did not always live in Washington. She used to live Puerto Rico.

Dr. Schurch was born in Puerto Rico. Dr. Schurch’s job is to work as an internist. An internist is a doctor of internal medicine and for older people. Dr. Schurch enjoys her job a lot. Dr. Schurch started working as an internist in 2001. Dr. Schurch loves her job except for the part when she has to tell her patient that he is very sick or that the patient may die. She has a daughter that goes to CHA. When Dr.Schurch is not at work she usually plays with her daughter, cooks meals, and does all those other things around the house.
